See this dog?
Her name is Hope. Hope was tied up around the neck with electrical wire by 19-year-old Dionte Davis and left to die in the woods. Her trachea was severed, as you can see above, from her struggle. She survived a little while after being rescued, but sadly did not make it. She was, however, alive when the above picture was taken. Nearly decapitated, but still alive.
Can you imagine the pain she felt? Yet even after that, she was still trusting of people. Still friendly, still loving, to her dying day. Such a sweet dog, who, thanks to the cruel actions of a twisted man, met an untimely and inhumane death. What did Hope do to deserve this?
There’s a petition here to give Davis the maximum sentence, along with many others around the web. Please at least look at the page, and reblog to get the word around. Abuse like this deserves the full punishment.

Justice.

In every law class I’ve ever taken, great emphasis was placed on the injustice, inequality, and corruption present in our criminal justice system. No matter how long we spend on working to alleviate said injustices and invoking amendments to such, it will never be enough because the cause is the greater capitalist system that establishes who the haves and the have nots are. No Black homeless man, no matter how remorseful, stands a chance against repeat players like the government under the present system.

Urge your congressman to support House Bill 2306, Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act of 2011, is a bi-partisan bill introduced by Congressmen Barney Frank and Ron Paul that would allow states to legalize and regulate marijuana without federal interference.

Congressmen Barney Frank and Ron Paul, along with courageous co-sponsors, have introduced the “Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act of 2011” and we need your help to pass this historic piece of legislation that would end federal marijuana prohibition as we know it. Under this bill, states would have the explicit authority to fully tax and regulate marijuana, and the federal government would protect the state’s right to do that. It would also allow states with medical marijuana laws to regulate without fear of federal government prosecutions. But states could also decide to continue prohibiting marijuana.

This is a common sense approach to regulating marijuana that allows states to decide how their citizens want marijuana laws to be implemented and enforced.

Please take a moment and send a message to your representative to let he or she know that this bill is important to you and a huge step toward a more sensible marijuana policy in America.
